13 - Hand on Bed Rail
Bohemian Home for the Aged, Chicago, IL
John used to rest his hand on the rail at the side of his bed. He was
unable to speak, but appeared to sense people around him. The same
hand used to squeeze mine, the only visible expression of our communication.
This was tremendously touching and moving exchange for both the subject and
photographer, we both cried on occasion, sharing our time together.
